So you can guess this computer’s battery life is at least 1/3 less than it was when it was brand new. Take the current maximum output rating (4950) divided by the original design output rating (7150) and you get. Well, you may wonder “How much shorter is the battery life?” This is where the battery capacity stat provided by Jamf comes in. This would tell us that the battery is not lasting as long as it did when it was new, since the current maximum capacity is a lower number. As an example, let’s say a battery was originally designed with an output rating of 7150mAh (meaning a brand new battery would have a rating similar to this), but the computer is reporting back that its current maximum output rating is only 4950mAh. The Battery Capacity statistic is given as a percentage, and is calculated by dividing the current maximum capacity of the battery by the design capacity of the battery. It’s possible you may not even need to go the extra mile with what I’m about to show you with attributes remember that Jamf reports a laptop’s Battery Capacity in Inventory > Hardware.
